Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions in Wantage, Oxfordshire, invites applications for an R&D Technician. You will work in our chemistry and materials lab, performing routine tests and developing characterization methods.

The role emphasises safety, accuracy, and collaboration with R&D Chemists. The contract is fixed-term for up to 12 months, with opportunities to contribute to pilot-coating and formulation tasks.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry or related subject preferred.
• Experience in laboratory operations and safety.
• Ability to document results precisely.
• Knowledge of DOE using statistical tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test chemical samples according to procedures.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain lab instruments.
• Record and analyze test results and ensure compliance.
• Support R&D projects by performing routine tests.
• Maintain inventory and storage of chemicals.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Assist in troubleshooting testing equipment.
• Contribute to product characterization and performance evaluations.
• Provide data to support development projects.
• Engage in technical discussions with R&D Chemists using performance data.
