Job summary
JBT Marel (Proseal) in Adlington, UK, is seeking a hands-on Control Systems R&D Engineer to own projects from concept to commissioning on bespoke packaging machinery. You’ll develop PLC, HMI, motion control and safety software, create electrical schematics and technical documentation, and guide projects through full lifecycle.
The role involves on-site and international travel, fault-finding, upgrades, customer training and remote support.
Qualifications
- BSc/HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
- Proven PLC programming and multi-axis servo control experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
- Knowledge of functional safety regulations.
- Experience with HMI development and on-site commissioning is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop PLC, HMI, motion control and safety software.
- Create electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Lead projects through design, coding, testing, commissioning and training.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Perform fault-finding, upgrades, and on-site commissioning (UK & international travel).
- Provide remote and telephone support to customers and teams.
