Job summary

MTrec Technical is recruiting an R&D Engineer to join their expanding team. The role focuses on designing and developing cutting-edge solutions for next-generation, high-tech applications.

You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, involved in the full product development lifecycle from concept through prototype testing to manufacturing. You will generate bespoke solutions using CAD and, where applicable, CFD analysis, manage projects, and contribute to advanced thermal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is desirable but not essential.
• Up to 3–4 years of engineering experience in a design, development and manufacturing environment.
• Inquisitive mind with a passion for research and development.
• Familiar with CAD to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Familiar with electronics thermal management technology.

Responsibilities

• Generate bespoke solutions to customers' requirements, potentially with CFD analysis.
• Manage allocated projects, creating engineering designs using 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
• Raise PO requests for materials and equipment; prototype build and test responsibility.
• Develop test plans and lab-based completion of prototype tests.
• Develop test rig 3D CAD designs, construct and commission test equipment.
• Liaise with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to implement best practices in new processes/equipment.
• Collaborate with Sales Department and ensure Health and Safety compliance.
• Ensure 5S housekeeping targets are achieved in controlled areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer with a passion for research and development to play a key role in designing and developing cutting‑edge solutions for next‑generation, high‑tech applications.

Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will be involved in the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to prototype testing, validation, and manufacturing, while contributing to pioneering technologies.

The Job you will do:

• Responsible for the generation of bespoke solutions to customers' requirements, potentially with the benefits of CFD analysis.
• Managing individual projects allocated. This will involve creating engineering designs using 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
• Raising PO Requests for materials, equipment and the subsequent responsibility for the prototype build and test
• Development of test plans and lab‑based practical completion of prototype tests
• Development of test rig 3D CAD designs, construction and commissioning of the test equipment
• To liaise with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to ensure best practices are followed in the development of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
• To work with and support the Sales Department function
• To work with due regard to Health and Safety requirements.
• To ensure that 5S housekeeping targets are achieved in areas of control.

About you:

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is desirable but not essential. Suitable industrial experience in line with the role would equally be considered.
• Up to 3 to 4 years of engineering experience in a design, development and manufacturing environment.
