Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a Quarry Supervisor to support the Quarry Manager in safe, efficient operation at Raisby Quarry & Concrete Plant in Durham. The role focuses on production planning, troubleshooting, and coordination with site teams.

You will lead safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and uphold health, safety and environmental standards as part of our zero-harm culture. Strong interpersonal and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in the extractive industry is preferred.
• Strong focus on safety and health, with practical risk assessment experience.
• Ability to write reports and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Safety will comprise a key element; carry out risk assessments and safety inspections.
• Conduct administrative duties such as writing reports and updating records, procurement and budget control.
• Plan and organise work efficiently to meet production goals.
• Work with the Quarry Manager and cross-site teams to support production and extraction activities.
• Contribute to zero-harm culture through health, safety and environmental practices.

We are currently seeking a Quarry Supervisor to join the team.

The primary duty for this role will be to support the Quarry Manager with the safe and efficient management and operation of the Quarry.

You will support the management of production and extraction activities, troubleshooting technical problems and overseeing planning of day-to-day operations in conjunction with other departments across site.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety will comprise a key element of the role. You will also be required to conduct risk assessments and health and safety inspections and to demonstrate leadership in safety.
• An important element of the role will involve administrative duties, from writing reports and updating records to procurement and budget control.
• An ability to plan and organise work in a time efficient fashion is critical.
• The ideal candidate will have background in the extractive industry, be familiar with the extractive process with a strong focus on safety and interpersonal skills.
• The Group places the highest importance on sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management and you will be expected to contribute to the Company’s zero harm culture.
