Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a committed Quarry Operative to support safe, efficient and reliable operations on site at Barnstaple. This hands-on role requires a practical approach and a strong focus on safety and performance.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 2 mobile plant operations and valid quarry tickets. Competitive package with career opportunities and a strong safety culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Good general level of education to understand Health & Safety and Quarry Regulations.
• NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations is required.
• MPQRC or equivalent qualification is required.
• Excavator, loading shovel, and dumper tickets are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and static plant safely and professionally in line with site management instructions and certifications.
• Carry out daily maintenance tasks including refuelling, greasing, and cleaning plant equipment.
• Ensure all machinery is operated as efficiently and economically as possible.
• Complete daily inspection sheets for all mobile plant.
• Report plant defects, safety concerns or operational issues promptly to the General Foreman.
• Complete near-miss reports and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Undertake general maintenance and additional duties on the main processing plant.

Quarry Operative - Must have quarry experienc

At least one of these tickets must be held either for an excavator, loading shovel, or dumper

Salary : £13.43ph + weekly production bonus

About the Role
