Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a proactive Quarry Manager to lead Clitheroe Quarry in Lancashire. You will head a dedicated team, drive safety excellence, optimise production and manage maintenance, budget and performance targets.

Your leadership will shape site culture, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all operations. This role offers opportunities to develop people and broaden responsibilities within a market-leading business.

Qualifications

• Experience in quarrying, extractives or related operations.
• Previous Quarry Manager, Assistant Quarry Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Eligibility to act as Quarry Manager under Regulation 8.1(c) of the Quarries Regulations 1999, or pathway to achieve.
• Strong knowledge of quarrying, mineral processing and production operations.
• Experience managing people, performance and site budgets.
• Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and business performance.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, building capability and engagement.
• Drive a strong safety culture to ensure everyone goes home safely.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Manage all quarry operations, including production, mobile plant and maintenance.
• Lead and coordinate contract crushing operations.
• Own site performance, deliver KPIs and budget commitments.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise performance.
• Develop and maintain systems of work, training plans and operational controls.
• Build relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
