Job summary

Tarmac Quarrington Quarry in County Durham is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to support the safe, efficient production of dry aggregates. You will work with heavy plant and a close-knit team, taking responsibility for plant operation and daily targets.

The role suits someone with quarrying or plant experience, who values teamwork, safety, and hands-on learning, with full UK driving licence and IT literacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, quarry, factory or aggregates environment (preferred).
• A proactive, flexible approach and strong teamwork skills.
• Good communication and timekeeping.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop operational and supervisory capability.
• Understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work (beneficial).
• IT literacy and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant and site machinery (dumpers, loading shovels, static plant).
• Support daily production targets and on-time customer deliveries.
• Carry out routine plant maintenance and housekeeping.
• Assist with weighbridge duties.
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to maximise plant availability.
• Champion high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
