Job summary

Oxford Quantum Circuits is seeking a Quantum Engineer to join the QEC Hardware Development team. You will design, calibrate and characterise components and subroutines for quantum error correction, exploring qubits, gates and readout methods, and contributing to the integration of error-detection layers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field; PhD not required.
  • Experience delivering research or engineering projects from design to reporting.
  • Software development experience in industry, placement or research.
  • Strong Python skills for automation and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with physics hardware or related electronics.
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear findings.
  • Independent, proactive, and able to own end-to-end projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop experimental measurement methods to characterise QEC components.
  • Calibrate and evaluate novel research devices and prototype hardware.
  • Develop experimental-control software and data-analysis workflows.
  • Own research projects from design to analysis and reporting.
