Job summary

Cityscape Recruitment LTD. is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction contractor. Based in Luton, you will manage commercial aspects, control project costs from procurement to final account, and prepare valuations.

The role involves subcontractor management, tendering support, and ensuring robust cost reporting across diverse projects. The ideal candidate will have UK QS experience, knowledge of JCT contracts, strong Excel/IT skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within UK construction.
• Main contractor or specialist contractor experience.
• Experience working on construction projects from procurement through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Excellent understanding of valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong procurement and subcontractor management experience.
• Good commercial awareness.
• Strong Excel and IT skills.
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or relevant construction discipline preferred.
• MRICS or working towards advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of allocated construction projects.
• Take responsibility for project costs from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare and review valuations.
• Manage subcontractor accounts.
• Procure subcontractors and negotiate packages.
• Manage variations and change.
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts.
• Monitor project budgets and cash flow.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Assist with tendering and pre-construction activities.
• Review subcontractor applications and payments.
• Produce monthly CVRs and commercial reports.
• Manage final accounts.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and supply chain.
