Ernest Gordon Recruitment is supporting a rapidly growing specialist steel manufacturer in Pontypool to hire a Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel). The role is office-based with a salary of £70,000 - £80,000 plus company benefits, progression, and training opportunities.

You will collaborate with the estimating team in the pre-construction phase, assisting with BOQs, tender submissions, and cost planning before taking ownership of the commercial aspects of projects through to completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably from a structural steel background.
• Experience with BOQs, tender submissions, and cost planning.
• Ability to commute to Pontypool.

Are you a Quantity Surveyor or similar from a structural steel background looking to join a rapidly growing specialist steel manufacturer in a commercially focused role, training, a varied project workload, and long-term progression?

Since the 2010s, this company has been delivering bespoke structural steel solutions across a range of industrial and commercial projects, alongside comprehensive project management services. Through continued success, they have grown to over 50 employees and achieved a multi-million-pound turnover.

In this office-based role, you will work closely with the estimating team during the pre-construction phase, assisting with BOQs, tender submissions, and cost planning before taking ownership of the commercial aspects of projects through to completion. You will manage project budgets, monitor expenditure, carry out cost evaluations, prepare valuations, and liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor or similar from a structural steel background looking to broaden their commercial experience within the structural steel industry, while benefiting from specialist training and genuine long-term career progression.
