Quantity Surveyor - Structural Steel

Location: Bristol

Salary: £55,000-£65,000 (DOE)

This is an opportunity to join a growing structural steel contractor delivering a diverse range of fabrication and construction projects across the UK. With a healthy pipeline of work and continued investment in the business, they're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to become a key part of their commercial team.

You’ll work alongside project managers, clients and subcontractors, helping ensure projects are delivered commercially as well as technically.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in the commercial success of structural steel projects by:

• Managing project costs from contract award through to final account.
• Preparing valuations, cost reports and managing contract variations.

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify commercial opportunities and risks.

What You’ll Need

Essential

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within structural steel, heavy fabrication or construction.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
• Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Desirable

• Experience using Quantity Surveying software such as CostX, Estimator or similar.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Experience working on structural steel fabrication projects.
