Job summary

Drnewitt in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Solar commercial department within a Power & Grid business unit. The role is based in Chesterfield with hybrid working arrangements and involves cost data collation, budget forecasting, contract administration, and managing subcontractor accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a 2:2 or higher in Quantity Surveying and 3+ years’ experience, with strong contract law knowledge and NEC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:2 degree in Quantity Surveying.
• 3+ years' experience at QS level.
• Excellent understanding of Contract Law; NEC experience preferred.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Collate monthly cost data to support the Commercial Manager with the production of CVRs.
• Manage budget control and forecasting for allocated projects, providing monthly updates.
• Ensure correct contract administration of allocated projects in line with contract requirements.
• Oversee cash management and cash flow production.
• Prepare forecasting documentation.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including measurement of works, variations, liability trackers, payment notices, and final accounts.
• Attend progress meetings and contribute to weekly commercial meetings.
• Conduct site visits and support client meetings alongside the Commercial Manager.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure work is carried out in line with internal processes and governance.
