Job summary

PiLON Hemel Hempstead is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will manage the commercial aspects of refurbishment contracts within social housing, including cost control and converting WIP into invoices.

The role requires at least 3 years in a commercial function, a degree in Quantity Surveying, solid measurement and valuation knowledge, and proficiency with Excel. DBS check is required; driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 3+ years in a commercial role with a contractor/subcontractor (social housing or similar).
• Strong understanding of measurement and valuation, including Schedules of Rates (SoR).
• Proficient IT skills; Excel and cost systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager and project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required standards.
• Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment; forecast costs and manage CVRs.
• Convert WIP to invoices while maximising value and profitability.
• Attend client meetings to discuss pricing and project feasibility; report monthly on commercial performance.
