Job summary

PiLON Limited, part of United Infrastructure, is seeking a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Hemel Hempstead. You will manage commercial aspects of refurbishment contracts in the social housing sector, including WIP-to-invoice processes and ensuring value and profitability.

This permanent, full-time role offers career progression and the opportunity to work on meaningful projects within the social housing sector.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• 3 years’ experience in a commercial role with a main contractor or subcontractor.
• Understanding of measurement and valuation, including Schedules of Rates.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager and project teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
• Manage and control the commercial performance of projects to maximise value and profitability.
• Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment.
• Carry out accurate forecasting and cost control.
• Take ownership of commercial reporting, including CVRs.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, including JCT, NEC, and client specifications.
• Attend client meetings to review requirements, pricing, and project feasibility.
• Produce and present monthly commercial reports and contribute to WIP review meetings.
• Provide commercial insight and support to the wider management team.
• Manage and develop supply chain relationships.
