Job summary

Persimmon Homes in Maidstone is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee site financial management across several residential projects. You will set up budgets, monitor valuations, manage subcontractor payments, and ensure tight cost control to support senior management decisions.

The role requires a minimum HND/HNC in building studies, UK residential experience, and strong Excel skills. A full UK driving licence is essential; COINS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HND/HNC in building relating studies.
• Previous experience in the UK residential house building sector.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to oversee a number of different projects at different stages of development.

Responsibilities

• Manage up to 3–4 sites with budgets, CVRs and subcontractor payments.
• Process weekly and monthly payments and resolve disputed items.
• Produce bi-monthly site valuations and report variances to Board.
• Negotiate subcontract rates to maximise margins.
• Utilise the COINS system to set up sites and forecast profitability.
• liaise with Construction, Sales, Customer Care and Accounts.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment policy.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
• Support Commercial Manager in key business decisions and attend regional meetings.
