Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our security-focused business supporting UK utilities. You will develop proficiency in quantity surveying and manage subcontractor procurement and cost implications.

The role includes monthly valuations, variations, and coordination with the Project Manager on contractual issues, while adhering to safety standards. A driver''s license and QS qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and procurement practices.
• Understanding of cost/value reporting and commercial processes.
• Valid driver''s license and willingness to travel to sites.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop proficiency in quantity surveying skills and practices.
• Review construction methods and cost implications of technical information.
• Understand the project plan and manage monthly valuations.
• Submit timely and accurate variation submissions.
• Liaise with the Project Manager on contractual issues affecting profitability.
• Ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards.
• Prepare and manage subcontract orders, bonds, guarantees and warranties.
• Monitor payments and documentation with subcontractors.
