Job summary

Jones Engineering Group in London requires a capable Quantity Surveyor to support the Construction Team and Senior Quantity Surveyor across commercial tasks, contract reviews, variations, and progress applications.

You will manage major subcontractor accounts from award to final account and prepare commercial reports, negotiating with contractors. Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous, with strong communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar QS role is preferred.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Team and Senior QS on commercial functions.
• Advise on commercial status of projects with Contract Managers.
• Assist in the review of all project contracts.
• Prepare commercial reports for management.
• Negotiate with contractors on variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Assist with monthly progress applications.
• Perform all other duties associated with the role.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team and Senior Quantity Surveyor on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Working directly with Contract Managers to advise on Commercial status of projects.
• Assisting in the review of all project contracts
• Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
• Negotiation with contractors across all projects including preparation of variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• All other duties associated with this role.

Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualifications are an advantage but not essential
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
