Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor and advise on the commercial status of projects with Contract Managers.
• Review project contracts and prepare commercial reports.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and manage variations.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award through interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Support the preparation and submission of monthly progress applications.
• Work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider construction team for effective commercial management.

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience in the construction or engineering sector to join an established engineering contractor and contribute to the successful commercial delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Contract Managers to monitor and advise on the commercial status of projects.
• Assist with reviewing project contracts and preparing commercial reports.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and manage variations.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award through interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Support the preparation and submission of monthly progress applications.
• Work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider construction team to ensure effective commercial management.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role within construction or engineering.
• Understanding of subcontractor management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Relevant third-level qualification is advantageous but not essential.
