Job summary

Professional Personnel Management Ltd seeks a Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial ownership of live landscaping and civils projects in Tunbridge Wells. The role includes contract administration, cost control, and client liaison, with a hybrid work pattern (2 days in office, 3 days at home).

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying preferred in landscaping or construction.
• Diploma or Degree in related field advantageous but not essential.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of multiple live projects across landscaping and civils.
• Manage all contractual and commercial aspects and support pre-construction through close-out.
• Experience with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Handle change control, variations, and add/omit schedules.
• Prepare, negotiate, and settle final accounts with clients.
• Ensure timely payments and resolve application queries promptly.
• Monitor costs and implement cost-mitigation strategies.
• Attend pre-order and client meetings; collaborate with delivery teams to protect margins.
• Record and value variations for monthly payment applications.

Quantity Surveyor(Landscaping and Civils)

Location: Tunbridge Wells (Hybrid)(2 days office/3 home)

Our client is an award-winning landscaping and grounds maintenance specialist delivering exceptional projects across the UK. With an excellent reputation built on trust, craftsmanship and long-standing partnerships, they work with a diverse portfolio of clients including local authorities, royal parks, commercial developers, schools, universities, and high-end luxury developers. They are now seeking a talented and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial ownership of multiple live projects, providing vital support to operations teams and ensuring strong financial performance across all stages. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing all contractual and commercial aspects across a range of live projects
• Supporting operations throughout pre-construction, delivery, and project close-out
• Experience of JCT and NEC Forms of Contract.
• Managing change control, including variations and add/omit schedules
• Preparing, negotiating, and agreeing final accounts with clients
• Ensuring timely payment and resolving application queries promptly
• Monitoring project costs and implementing cost-mitigation strategies
• Attending pre-order and client meetings as required
• Working closely with delivery teams to ensure budgets and profit margins are achieved
• Accurately recording and valuing variations for monthly applications for payment

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role (landscaping or construction sectors preferred)
• A relevant Diploma, Degree or Higher Education qualification is advantageous but not essential
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
