Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and drive success across high value projects. You will manage project costs, contracts and change processes while preparing budgets, valuations and final accounts.

The role includes cost forecasting, value engineering and procurement of the supply chain within our management systems. The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction, strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, commercial acumen,

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, especially JCT and NEC forms.
• Sound commercial awareness and numerate skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive work style with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, contractual obligations and change processes.
• Prepare budgets, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Cost forecasting and value engineering support.
• Procurement of supply chain and documentation per management systems.
• Assess and certify Sub-Contractor interim payments with notices.
• Prepare interim valuations and final account submissions.
• Manage and value variation accounts.
• Assist with Extension of Time and Loss and Expense submissions.
• Identify and manage commercial risks.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports.
• Foster effective relationships between commercial and site teams.
