Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to provide professional commercial and cost management on several capital projects from its South East or South West Hub in Newport. The role is hybrid with three days on site and two remote workdays.

You will support project managers and engineers on commercial contract management within Welsh Water Frameworks, assist with procurement, and undertake detailed cost analyses for tenders. A driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of NEC contract administration.
• Excellent analytical and data interrogation skills.
• Cost management experience on projects £25k–£2m.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional commercial and cost management on several capital projects simultaneously.
• Advise project managers and engineers on commercial contract management within Welsh Water Frameworks.
• Assist with procurement and allocation of capital work to framework contractors.
• Undertake detailed cost analysis on tender returns for capital projects.
• Prepare works orders and ensure Welsh Water approval processes are followed.
• Validate and agree contract values and target costs with framework contractors.
• Identify and manage commercial project risks and resolutions.
• Carry out monthly valuations and recommend payments.
