Job summary

Haringey Council is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Housing Major Works team in London. You will deliver cost management, contract support and procurement activities across a portfolio of housing capital projects, ensuring value for money and strong financial control.

You will assess contract sums, COIs, and provide commercial advice to project teams, contractors and stakeholders, supporting procurement, delivery and close-out under procurement rules and governance.

Qualifications

• You will be a commercially astute and solution-focused Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years experience of managing costs and contracts within a construction, housing, property or capital projects environment.
• You will have a strong understanding of quantity surveying, cost management, procurement and contract administration, together with the ability to identify risks, negotiate effectively and provide practical commercial advice.
• Experience of working on major works, refurbishment or capital investment projects will be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional quantity surveying, cost management and contract support services across major housing works projects.
• Control project expenditure and review consultant submissions, bills of quantities and labour costs.
• Undertake final account reviews and support timely project close-out and financial governance.
