Job summary

OCU Group is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial & Estimating Department in Eggborough. You will manage the commercial and contractual aspects across projects, ensuring cost-effective delivery and adherence to NEC contractual terms.

A car allowance is provided as part of a competitive package. The role involves supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with cost management, preparing budgets and forecasts, and maintaining strong commercial control throughout the project

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management in energy, utilities, power, or infrastructure.
• Experience with NEC contracts and subcontractor management.
• Knowledge of cost reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and contractual aspects from tender through completion.
• Maintain subcontract accounts: valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Support Senior QS with cost management, forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor costs, identify variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and forecasts from drawings/specifications.
• Manage tendering, procurement, quotations evaluation and negotiations.
• Administer contracts including variations, claims and correspondence.
• Value completed works and ensure payments align with contract terms.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks to protect margin.
• Produce regular project cost reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
