Job summary

PPM Recruitment is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for a reputable drylining and interiors contractor in Wellingborough.

You will oversee commercial aspects from tender to final accounts, manage budgets, valuations and cash flow, and ensure profitability while maintaining strong client and supplier relationships. This role suits candidates with solid QS experience and knowledge of interior fit-out projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Desirable: drylining/interiors experience.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and procurement.
• Ability to manage valuations and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of drylining and interior fit-out projects from inception through to completion.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier packages.
• Clients include: residential, extra-care, student accommodation and commercial.
• Manage project budgets, cost plans, valuations and financial forecasts.
• Prepare and submit interim applications for payment and manage cash flow.
• Measure and value variations, additional works and compensation events where applicable.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor project costs against budgets, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Procure materials, labour and subcontract packages to achieve best value.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend site visits and commercial meetings as required.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams and senior management to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to programme.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company commercial procedures.
