Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Exeter team, delivering cost management and QS services across a diverse project portfolio. You will support the full lifecycle from inception to completion, with emphasis on cost planning, procurement, tender analysis and value engineering.

The role requires strong analytical, numerical and communication skills, plus a degree in Quantity Surveying and a drive towards MRICS chartership.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Cost Management role within a consultancy or commercial environment.
• Cost planning, procurement, tendering and cost control knowledge.
• Interest in MRICS chartership and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Providing cost management and quantity surveying services from inception through to completion.
• Preparing cost estimates, cost plans and budget reports at various stages.
• Advising clients on procurement strategies and supporting tender processes.
• Preparing tender documentation, analysing tender returns and making recommendations.
• Managing project costs, monitoring expenditure and preparing regular cost reports.
• Undertaking measurement, valuations and the assessment of variations.
• Supporting contract administration and managing commercial risks.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and advising on cost-saving measures.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and project teams.
• Supporting final accounts preparation and agreement.
