Job summary

Utilise Recruitment Ltd. is partnering with a well-established infrastructure and environmental contractor in North Yorkshire to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for its expanding commercial team.

You will take ownership of the commercial management of multiple projects across civil engineering and highways, ensuring value for money, accurate valuations, and strong client and supply chain relations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of commercial management principles and cost control.
• Experience with valuations, forecasting, variations and contract administration.
• Experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the South, Midlands and wider UK as required.

Responsibilities

• Managing the financial and contractual performance of a portfolio of infrastructure projects
• Producing accurate valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, forecasts and profitability
• Supporting project teams with commercial advice and contractual guidance
• Identifying and managing variations, compensation events and change control processes
• Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are met
• Assessing risk and implementing measures to protect commercial performance
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders
• Supporting cash flow by ensuring applications, payments and recoveries are managed effectively
• Assisting with final account negotiations and project close-out activities
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across commercial processes and procedures
