Job summary

Effective Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing civil engineering business. You will manage commercial aspects from initial pricing through to final accounts, with opportunities for long-term career development and mentorship.

Ideal candidates have experience in general civil engineering, NEC3/NEC4 familiarity, and a professional approach to cost management and client communications.

Qualifications

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering or construction environments preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts essential.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness; experience with valuations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Pricing projects prior to contract agreement and valuations.
• Prepare and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
• Monitor financial performance of contracts and produce reports for senior management.
• Communicate with clients and subcontractors to manage payment terms and progression.
• Proactively support the wider commercial team during project delivery.
