Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its civil engineering division in Chelmsford, Essex. You will support frameworks and standalone projects, oversee commercial performance, and help drive cost control and reporting across the Anglia region.

The role involves close collaboration with delivery teams, managing valuations and final accounts, reviewing contracts, and supporting procurement to maximise profitability.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' commercial experience within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• NEC contract experience would be advantageous.
• Good communication, organisational and reporting skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of framework works and individual projects.
• Monitor and assess variations, extensions of time and client instructions.
• Prepare monthly cost/value reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
• Manage valuations, applications and final accounts.
• Review contract documentation, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support procurement and resource management to maximise profitability.
• Monitor project progress, programme performance and cash collection.
• Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are met.
