Job summary

Rogers McHugh Recruitment seeks an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management on ongoing projects in Bristol. The role is freelance with an initial contract through to at least the end of 2026, offering a negotiable day rate and the chance to work with a specialist contractor.

The candidate will be responsible for cost control, contract administration and ensuring financial performance aligns with project goals. Bristol-based office required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in new-build or facades.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Experience in the construction industry.
• Able to work independently and manage priorities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Available to work from the Bristol office.

My client is looking for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their team on an ongoing basis, with the initial contract running through to at least the end of the year.

The company specialises in new build, external works, cladding and facades, and is looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor who can provide support across their projects.

The Role

As a Freelance Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of projects, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams to ensure costs, contracts and financial performance are effectively managed.

About You

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within new build, cladding, facades or external works (not essential)
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• Experience working within the construction industry
• Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Available to work from the Bristol office
