Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for rail and civil engineering projects in Wombwell. You will support commercial management from procurement through final account and handle valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts.

Experience in civil/rail works and NEC contracts is essential; a QS qualification or equivalent experience is required. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a company car or allowance and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and subcontract management.
• Strong ability to prepare and review valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Solid commercial and financial management skills.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, rail or infrastructure.
• Rail sector experience is advantageous but not required.

Quantity Surveyor - Rail / Civil Engineering

Salary: £45,000 - £57,500 + Company Car / Allowance

An excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established infrastructure contractor, supporting a portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects

This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to major infrastructure schemes while developing their career within a supportive and growing commercial team.

The Role

You will support the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, including:

• Preparing applications for payment, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Producing monthly CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and accounts.
• Supporting change management, risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with Project and Site Managers.
• Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual compliance.
• Supporting commercial decision‑making across projects.

About You

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail or infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience with subcontract management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills.
• Relevant QS qualification or equivalent experience.
• Rail experience is beneficial but not essential.
