Job summary

Ganymede is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support rail and civil infrastructure projects from a Wombwell base. You will manage commercial activities from procurement to final accounts, ensuring NEC contract compliance and robust financial control.

The role offers exposure to major infrastructure schemes within a supportive commercial team, with opportunities for career progression and development in a growing sector.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail or infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience with subcontract management, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills.
• Relevant QS qualification or equivalent experience.
• Rail experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare applications for payment, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Produce monthly CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations and accounts.
• Support change management, risks and opportunities.
• Work with Project and Site Managers to ensure commercial efficiency.
• Administer NEC contracts and ensure contractual compliance.
• Support commercial decision‑making across projects.

Location: Wombwell, Barnsley
Salary: £45,000 – £57,500 + Company Car / Allowance

An excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join an established infrastructure contractor, supporting a portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects

This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to major infrastructure schemes while developing their career within a supportive and growing commercial team.

The Role

You will support the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, including:

• Preparing applications for payment, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Producing monthly CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations and accounts.
• Supporting change management, risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with Project and Site Managers.
• Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual compliance.
• Supporting commercial decision‑making across projects.

About You
