Job summary

Borne Resourcing Limited is recruiting an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility across a varied portfolio of projects in Essex. The role covers pre- and post-contract duties on refurbishment-focused works up to about £2m across commercial, public sector and residential sectors.

The successful candidate will manage estimates, procurement, sub-contracts, valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts, with direct client interaction and autonomy.

Qualifications

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor with an all-round contracting background.
• Strong refurbishment experience.
• Comfortable with estimating/pre-construction and project QS duties.
• Experience across commercial, public sector and/or residential projects advantageous.
• Able to independently manage projects up to approximately £2m.
• Commercially minded and comfortable working within a smaller contractor environment.

Quantity Surveyor | Main contractor | Essex | Up to £80,000 + Package

I'm working with a smaller, established contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility across a varied portfolio of projects.

This is an all-round commercial role covering both pre and post-contract duties, with projects ranging from smaller works through to approximately £2m across commercial, public sector and residential refurbishment.

The Role

• Preparing estimates and tender submissions
• Procurement of subcontractors, labour, materials and plant
• Commercial management of projects from tender through to final account
• Preparing interim valuations and pricing variations
• Managing project costs and protecting commercial margins
• Working directly with clients and their representatives
