Skilled Careers is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join a close-knit three-person commercial team on a landmark education project in Hertfordshire. You will own day-to-day commercial tasks, from procurement and cost control to valuations and final accounts, ensuring the scheme is delivered on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Experience working on new-build construction projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost control, procurement and contract administration.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with attention to detail and ownership of responsibilities.
• A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Experience on education projects is advantageous.

We re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction team on an exciting new-build education project in Hertfordshire.

The Opportunity

As Quantity Surveyor, you ll play an important role in the commercial success of the project, working closely with the wider delivery team to ensure the scheme is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

You ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of the project, from procurement and cost control through to valuations and final accounts. Working within a team of three, you ll have the support and collaboration of an experienced commercial function, alongside the opportunity to take ownership of your work and continue developing your expertise.

What We re Looking For

Experience working on education projects would be advantageous, although experience on other new-build construction schemes will also be considered.
