Job summary

United Living Group is seeking a commercial lead based out of the Trafford office in the UK. You will be responsible for the commercial success of projects, managing contracts, budgets, and promotional activities with clients and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Quantity Surveying, a minimum of 5 years in a commercial role, and strong skills in data interrogation and negotiation. A competitive salary and opportunities for career progression are offered.

Job description

Job Description

You are to be the commercial lead on projects and be responsible for the commercial success of those projects while adhering to commercial administration procedures. You will promote and deliver a collaborative environment with both the client and throughout the management of the subcontract/supply chain account, and be based out of the Trafford office.

Contract Management Responsibilities
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts.
  • Manage and process payments for specialist subcontracts and key suppliers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with contract terms, conditions, rights, and obligations.
  • Report monthly on the outturn Pain/Gain (if applicable).
  • Coordinate changes or amendments in accordance with NEC 3/4 Option A & C contract.
  • Analyse the impact of changes and assess liability exposure.
Contract Administration
  • Monitor and track contract obligations.
  • Undertake site visits to administer the contract in line with project progress.
  • Monitor and report on contract performance in terms of programme, cost, and key events/issues.
  • Perform the closeout process, ensuring all contract terms are met and payments are verified.
  • Obtain and execute any required forms, reports, or clearances and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Collaborate with both clients and subcontractors in all duties.
Budget Management
  • Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of budget changes.
  • Capture and report cost variances.
  • Collate Defined Cost Records for client audit.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation.
  • Generate Earned Value Analysis reports.
  • Validate Subcontract Applications/Payments data.
  • Review and validate weekly cost monitors, comparing forecasted costs with actual costs.
  • Prepare monthly valuations.
  • Maintain change registers.
  • Provide commercial elements for the commercial report.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a commercial role.
Education
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial field.
Professional Membership
  • Membership in an appropriate professional body.
Skills
  • Strong data interrogation skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in bid knowledge.
Legal and Contractual Knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of legal and contractual aspects.
Industry Exposure
  • Demonstrated industry experience.
Driving License
  • Valid driving licence.
