Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Planned Works division. You will drive commercial performance across refurbishment contracts, handling valuations, payments and final accounts while ensuring profitability and compliance.

You will manage subcontractor packages, monitor costs and forecasts, and work closely with operational teams to deliver high-quality, on-time projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in Planned Works, social housing, refurbishment or construction.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness with negotiation skills.
• Experience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of Planned Works contracts from inception through to final account.
• Prepare, submit and agree valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts to maximise profitability.
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and payments.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate cost reports and commercial forecasts.
• Collaborate with Operational Managers and Site Teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide commercial advice and guidance to contract delivery.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of Planned Works contracts from inception through to final account.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has experience delivering Planned Works or refurbishment projects.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Planned Works, Social Housing, Refurbishment or Construction.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• A proactive approach with excellent communication abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
