Job summary

Cornerstone Project Source Ltd in North Yorkshire seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial and cost aspects of structural steel and off-site construction projects from tender through to final account.

Immediate start. DOE salary £60,000-£70,000 per annum. Prior QS experience in structural steel/off-site manufacturing required; strong contract knowledge (JCT/NEC) and proven valuation and CVR skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven QS experience in structural steel/off-site manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cash flow forecasts for structural steel and off-site packages.
• Measure and value works in progress; prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Procure subcontractors, manage accounts/payments and variations.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subs.
• Produce monthly CVR reports for management.

Job description

A leading structural steel specialist is currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and cost aspects of structural steel and off-site construction projects, from tender through to final account, in North Yorkshire.

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cash flow forecasts for structural steel and off-site packages
• Measure and value works in progress; prepare interim valuations and applications for payment
• Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts and payments, including sub-contract orders and variations
• Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
• Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation (CVR) reports for management

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within structural steel, off-site manufacturing, or the wider construction sector
• Strong knowledge of forms of contract (JCT/NEC)
