  • Provide robust cost reporting and financial control, ensuring timely, accurate, and transparent reporting to client stakeholders.
  • Support procurement activities, including tender preparation, evaluation, contract award, and commercial negotiations.
  • Administer construction contracts (e.g. NEC, JCT), including change control, compensation events, and claims management.
  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, working closely with risk and planning disciplines.
  • Contribute to value management and cost optimisation initiatives to improve capital efficiency.
  • Act as a consultant embedded within client teams, providing professional advice and representing Movar with credibility and integrity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial and quantity surveying professionals, promoting best practice and professional development.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex cost and contractual environments.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, particularly NEC forms.
  • Ability to analyse cost data, identify trends, and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with strong forecasting and financial management skills.
  • Consulting mindset with the ability to adapt to different client environments and challenges.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, construction, or major capital programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering pre- and post-contract commercial management services.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost management, change control, and contract administration.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (MRICS/FRICS or equivalent) or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing environment is advantageous.
