Job summary

Amey in Glasgow is recruiting a Permanent Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Manager) to join the NMC SW Account. The role offers hybrid working between home and office and places you as the primary contact for commercial matters within your area, collaborating with Project, Finance and Delivery Managers.

You will work closely with finance teams to maintain cost control, monitor budgets and forecast, and drive commercial best practices to maximise value while minimising risk and cost for Amey.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial reporting and stakeholder management.
• Self-sufficient with ability to work on own initiative.
• Civil engineering background desirable.
• Full driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Robust commercial management of subcontractors and supply chain partners, including evaluation of enquiries, quotations, payments, final accounts and input to dispute resolution.
• Ensure Applications for Payment are submitted on time and recover full entitlement for all works and variations.
• Ensure timely issuing of all notices required under the Contract(s).
• Support the CVR reporting process.
• Ensure compliance with Amey systems, processes and procedures for post-contract management.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Manager) to join our dynamic NMC SW Account team at Polmadie, Glasgow. This role offers hybrid working between home and office.

In this role, you will be the primary contact for all commercial matters within your area and working closely with Project, Finance and Delivery Manager’s. You will work closely with our finance teams to ensure full cost control of projects and with the project manager to monitor budgets and forecast.

This role offers a unique opportunity to implement commercial best practices, maximizing value while minimizing risk and cost for Amey.

What You’ll Do:

• Robust commercial management of subcontractors and supply chain partnersincluding the preparation, review and evaluation of subcontract enquiries, quotationsand payments, final accounts and input to dispute resolution
• Ensure Applications for Payment are submitted on time and ensure the Company recovers full entitlement for all works and variations.
• Ensuring timely issuing of all notices required under the Contract(s)
• Support the CVR reporting process
• Ensuring compliance with the Amey systems, processes and procedures to deliver post contract management

What You’ll Bring:

• A strong understanding of commercial reporting and implementation, supported by your excellent stakeholder management skills.
• A proven track record in a similar role will give you the confidence to be self-sufficient and work on your own initiative.
• It is desirable you will have pr evious experience in the civil engineering industry to be considered for this role.
• A full driving licence is required for this role.
