Amey is seeking a Permanent Assistant Construction Manager to join the Major Bridges Scheme Delivery Team in Polmadie, Glasgow. You will support the Delivery Manager in safe, efficient delivery of highway and infrastructure works, ensuring compliance with CDM, quality and stakeholder requirements.
The role offers a 40-hour week, Mon-Fri, with overtime opportunities for weekend/site night supervision. A relevant engineering degree and full UK driving licence are essential.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Assistant Construction Manager to join our Major Bridges Scheme Delivery Team within our NMC South West account, based in Polmadie, Glasgow.
Our NMC SW account is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response.
Our team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day.
By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.
The purpose of the Assistant Construction Manager to support the Delivery Manager in the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of works under the SW NMC, ensuring statutory obligations, programmes, quality and stakeholder requirements are met.
The shift pattern is 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 0800 – 1645hr with opportunity to earn overtime assisting with site supervision at weekends and occasionally on nightshifts.
This would suit candidates currently working in a similar position who has experience of managing Principal Contractors duties with a background within Civil Engineering, Construction or Term Maintenance Highways Contracts.
A relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification is essential for this role.
