Job summary

Eden Scott is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor or mid-level Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a well-established engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Qualifications

  • This role requires an HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual obligations are essential.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required to manage costs, reports and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building abilities are essential, together with organisational skills and a full UK driving licence.

  • Preparing monthly commercial reports.

  • Ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed.

Job description

A Senior Quantity Surveyor or mid-level Quantity Surveyor is required to join the commercial team of a well-established engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring strong financial performance while supporting operational teams and maintaining excellent client and subcontractor relationships. You will work across a wide variety of projects, supporting clients within a range of sectors that include Education, Renewables, Healthcare, Retail & Commercial.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing valuations and applications for payment under a NEC contracts.
  • Monitoring project costs, forecasts and programme delivery.
  • Preparing monthly commercial reports.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.
