Thorn Baker Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a leading offsite construction specialist in Coventry. You will join a growing commercial team and oversee commercial management from procurement through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and on time.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of QS or commercial experience, with strong negotiation and organisational skills. Experience in offsite or timber frame is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' Quantity Surveying or commercial experience is required.
• Experience with subcontractors or specialist contractors is preferred.
• Experience in the education sector is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills are essential.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are important.
• A proactive attitude and desire to progress in your career are valued.

Responsibilities

• Procure, negotiate and administer subcontract packages.
• Prepare applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and project progress.
• Ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support resolution of commercial issues and disputes.

Our client is a market-leading specialist in panelised offsite construction, delivering innovative building solutions across the education, healthcare, residential, commercial and life sciences sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years' commercial experience who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking business at the forefront of modern methods of construction.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you'll be responsible for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, helping to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Procuring, negotiating and administering subcontract packages
• Preparing applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
• Managing project budgets, forecasts and cash flow
• Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risk

About You

The business is keen to speak with candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds. Previous offsite or timber frame experience is beneficial but not essential.

You'll ideally have:

• Education sector experience (preferred but not essential)
