Job description

We are pleased to partner with the 5 Hour Club on this part-time opportunity within our Natural Resources business team for the Southern Water contract. We support the 5 Hour Club's mission to shape The Five Hour workday, helping parents balance work and school runs.

Location

Remote work three days a week, with two days in Falmer, East Sussex office/site.

Hours

12-month fixed-term contract, part-time, 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a part-time Quantity Surveyor to join our water frameworks team. Your role will involve controlling costs, maximizing value, minimizing liabilities, and maintaining safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with managers and teams to enhance cost efficiency and foster a high-performing environment.

Your daily tasks include:

1. Administering and enforcing business commercial procedures; measuring works and reconciling target costs.
2. Preparing monthly and final payment applications, including VOWD, ETC, and EAC reporting.
3. Monitoring, forecasting, and reporting project costs and values accurately.
4. Assessing and processing subcontractor payment applications in line with contractual and industry standards.
5. Interpreting financial data, reconciling costs, and recognizing value.

What we are looking for

This role is ideal if you have:

• Experience with NEC contracts involving Target Costs.
• Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication skills suitable for client interactions.
• Knowledge of cash flow forecasting.
• Excellent numeric and literacy skills for financial data analysis.
