Job description

Fawkes & Reece South are working with a main contractor seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The team manages projects for private clients, valued up to £5 million, based on bespoke contracts derived from NEC contracts. Projects are located in Sussex and Kent.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report directly to a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Your role involves ensuring that commercial duties are administered in accordance with NEC contract standards.

You will be involved in, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

1. Accurate monthly forecasting
2. Producing and sending enquiries with relevant documentation to subcontractors
3. Producing monthly reports and cost value reconciliation
4. Managing changes in a timely manner
5. Producing, submitting, and agreeing on monthly applications with the client
6. Attending weekly progress meetings with the client
7. Producing and submitting compensation event quotations

Requirements, including certificates and qualifications:

• Degree-qualified or equivalent
• Experience with civil engineering or infrastructure projects is preferred
• Membership of RICS is desirable but not essential
• Good working knowledge and experience with NEC contracts
• Ability to prove eligibility to work in the UK
