Vital Energi Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Scotland. You will support financial management of contracts across the region, partnering with Contracts Managers to optimise value and commercial risk.

The role requires a BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent), knowledge of NEC contracts, and membership of a professional institution (MRICS or similar). A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to a BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
• Member of a professional institution (e.g. MRICS or similar)
• Good knowledge of NEC Contracts
• Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical services and utilities would be advantageous

Responsabilités

• Work in partnership with site management to commercially support sites, developing a proactive site team
• Ensure contractual obligations are identified and administered
• Vet contract documentation on receipt to ensure compatibility with tender and negotiations
• Produce Commercial Risk Register for each contract
• Monitor risk and assist in implementing agreed mitigations
• Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and cash/spend profiles
• Authorisation and coding of suppliers and subcontractors invoices for payment
• Measure, certify and agree sub-contractor valuations and final accounts
• Attend Contract Review Meetings and manage notices to subcontractors

Quantity Surveyor

Would you like to be part of Vital Energi's 5-year Strategy of Growth?If so, due to continuing success, we are experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors, and we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with a successful background in the world of Construction.You will join our Commercial team supporting a variety of projects covering the Scotland Region.You will support financial management of Contracts, in partnership with the Contracts Managers and / or Project Managers.

What you will be doing:

• Work in partnership with site management, commercially supporting sites as required, to develop a proactive site team.
• Ensuring that contractual obligations are identified and administered.
• Vet contract documentation on receipt from Client to ensure compatibility with the Company's Tender and subsequent negotiations
• Produce Commercial Risk Register for each contract.
• Monitor risk and assist in implementation of agreed mitigation measures
• Prepare and issue enquiries for Major Plant & Equipment and Sub-Contract packages.
• Vet quotations commercially and negotiate price and terms with vendors.
• Issue resultant Purchase Orders
• Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or Invoices, obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client Payments in accordance with contractual provisions
• Measure, submit and agree Variations, Loss & Expense and/or Compensation Events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of Final Accounts
• Monitor on-site record keeping.
• Prepare and issue Notices in accordance with contractual provisions
• Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and Cash/Spend Profiles.
• Attend Contract Review Meetings
• Authorisation and coding of Suppliers' and Sub-contractors' Invoices and submission to Finance for payment
• Measure, certify and agree Sub-Contractors interim valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare and issue contractual notices to Sub-Contractors

Who we are looking for:

• A quantity surveyor who has a successful construction portfolio
• Good knowledge of NEC Contracts
• Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline)
• Member of Profession Institution (e.g. MRICS or similar)
• Have knowledge and working experience of Mechanical / Electrical services and/ or utilities
• Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness/ acumen
• Full UK manual driving licence
