Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd. is recruiting experienced Quantity Surveyors to join our team in Bedfordshire, supporting one of the UK's largest construction programmes for Universal Studios.

The role focuses on commercial management across procurement, tendering, and subcontract oversight, with an emphasis on cost control and value maximisation. Ideal candidates will have large-scale project experience, a degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, and prior or current experience with a Tier

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management is required.
• Experience on CM projects and large-scale programmes is essential.
• Prior or current experience with a Tier 1 contractor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Input into Work Scope Documents / Procurement of Enabling Work Packages with Client Procurement Team.
• Cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials to minimise risk and maximise value.
• Manage procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and final accounts for subcontract packages.

Sir Robert McAlpine is delighted to be part of the delivery team supporting Universal Studios in Bedfordshire. We are currently seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors to join our team and work on one of the UK's largest construction programmes with Universal committing more than £5 billion to the development and targeting an opening in 2031.. As one of the main contractors appointed to support construction of the resort, Sir Robert McAlpine will play a key role in delivering this landmark development.

The Quantity Surveyor Role:

Ideally, you'll;

• be a recognised Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit and cash
• Working together to input into Work Scope Documents/ Procurement of Enabling Work Packages with the Client Procurement Team.
• have prior experience with CM projects
• have experience managing a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages through to final account.
• be keen to minimise risk, cost and maximise value by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
• Broad construction industry experience covering many and various sectors and markets in commercial positions with industry main contracting organisations

Your profile

• Large scale major project experience / Construction Management experience
• Prior or current experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
• Strategy – Can disseminate a breadth of internal and external data and apply sound judgement regarding the strategic direction of the business
• You will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or a related subject
