Meridian Business Support Ltd. is assisting a well-established North-west M&E contractor to recruit an aspiring Quantity Surveyor. The role offers training to develop M&E skills and a stable path in a growing commercial team.

You will learn to manage costs, produce CVRs, and report project profitability while coordinating with clients and internal teams. An immediate start is possible with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Completed RICS or equivalent course.
• Experience in M&E not required but beneficial due to transferable skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong MS Office ability.
• Able to work in a team environment with problem-solving focus.

Responsibilities

• Managing value and cost of commercial M&E projects at various stages of delivery.
• Act as focal point for communications between clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
• Deliver project profitability and meet targets and deadlines.
• Manage risk and change processes.
• Work with legal teams to create contracts and documentation.
• Provide commercial advice and ensure quality throughout.
• Produce client applications and CVRs.
• Monitor and uphold project control systems and admin compliance.
• Present cost reports and risk updates in meetings.

Quantity Surveyor

Meridian are working with a well-established M&E contractor in the North-west who are growing their M&E commercial team. They are looking for an aspiring Quantity Surveyor who shows a willingness to learn the M&E industry and be trained up with necessary skills to flourish in the M&E market. Duties include (with training provided where skills may need additional upskilling):

• Managing the value and cost of commercial M&E projects at various stages of project delivery
• Becoming the focal point for effective communicationsbetween clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to meet supply and delivery targets and reporting into commercial directors
• Delivering profitability on assigned project(s) and working with others to ensuretargets and time demands are met
• Managing risk and changeprocesses
• Working with legal teams to create agreements and contract documentation
• Providing commercial advice and support to the client, making sure quality is never compromised
• Produce client applications and cost value reconciliations (CVRs)
• Implement and monitor administrative and management systems to supportexisting project control systems
• Monitor and manage compliance with commercial agreements and administration
• Work closely with your directors and commercial teams to present in regular project cost reports and risk meetings

Requirements for the role:

• Already completed RICS or equivalent course
• Experience within M&E is NOT required, but similar sector experience would be beneficial due to transferable skills
• Bonus if you have experience within commercial M&E projects and building services, and an understanding of pre-construction as well as project delivery (not essential)
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong computer-literacy and MS Office capability
• Ability to work with others and in team environments, with an emphasis on problem-solving and conflict resolution
• Excellent presentation skills in verbal and written formats
