Job summary

Dornan Group invites applications for its Quantity Surveying Internship Programme 2027. Successful candidates will be placed on live projects across Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe, with structured training, mentorship and guidance to push learning and growth.

Internships range from 6–12 months, typically completed in the third year of study. Roles include cost control, BOQ production, reports, variations and interaction with clients and senior management.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a Quantity Surveying Degree or related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Pre-contract cost control and documentation.
• Producing fully priced and detailed bills of quantities, labour hours and materials for the complete project life cycle.
• Preparing costs for variations.
• Producing progress and cost reports when requested.
• Reporting to senior management on progression of projects.
• Involvement in cost plans, tracking labour costs and efficiency throughout projects.
• Dealing with clients, contractors etc in a professional manner.

The Dornan Quantity Surveying Internship programme allows participants to take on responsibility on live projects, developing skills and knowledge through structured training, mentorship and guidance. Our programme aims to push participants out of their comfort zone and into a phase of learning and growth.

Internships range from 6-12 months in duration and are usually completed in the third year of study.

Your day to day will include:

• Pre-contract cost control and documentation.
• Producing fully priced and detailed bills of quantities, labour hours and materials for the complete project life cycle.
• Preparing costs for variations.
• Producing progress and cost reports when requested.
• Reporting to senior management on progression of projects.
• Involvement in cost plans, tracking labour costs and efficiency throughout projects.

What we are looking for:

What happens next:

• Your application will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in October and November of 2026.
• Offers will be issued in November of 2026, and following this you will be assigned to your project location.
