Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners is seeking a Quant Data Engineering & AI Engineer to join a highly collaborative team shaping AI-enabled data platforms for quantitative research and investment strategies.

The role covers TB-scale data, AI tooling development, and close partnership with Portfolio Managers to uncover new alpha sources, with production-grade AI infrastructure and modern cloud tech.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python in large-scale production settings.
• Background in Data Engineering, ML or Quantitative Engineering.
• Experience building distributed data pipelines and processing large datasets.
• Commercial experience with AI technologies, including LLMs and RAG architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Strong software engineering practices and production systems know-how.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-throughput data pipelines for quantitative strategies.
• Build scalable data platforms for structured and alternative datasets.
• Develop AI-enabled tooling to extract insights from large corpora of unstructured financial data.
• Deploy and optimize LLMs and ML models in production.
• Create backtesting and simulation frameworks to accelerate research.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Quant Researchers and Data Scientists.
• Evaluate cutting-edge AI and quantitative finance research for adoption.
• Help shape cloud, data and AI infrastructure architecture.
