Job summary

Tempest Vane Partners in London is hiring a junior-mid Software Engineer to help build the main portfolio management platform and related data layers used by trading teams across asset classes. You will work with Researchers and other tech teams to create containerised C# apps and data platforms that enable scalable storage, transformation, and testing of data.

Candidates should have 1–4 years of software development experience in C# and exposure to Python or C++.

Qualifications

• 2.1 degree or higher in a STEM subject from a top university (Computer Science preferred but similar degree's will be considered)
• 1-4 years of commercial Software Development experience using C# and other languages such as Python and/or C++
• Comfortable using agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code and a genuine interest in using them as a natural part of daily work
• Experience building systems for cloud-based storage and processing large datasets with tools like Spark, Parquet or Arrow
• Knowledge of cloud and containerisation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and AWS
• Experience working as a Software Developer in the financial markets sector (desirable but not required)

Responsibilities

• Build containerised C# applications and a platform enabling storage, transformation, and testing of data at scale.
• Collaborate with Researchers and other technology teams to deliver a high-impact portfolio management platform for trading teams across asset classes.
