Skilled Careers is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor in Northampton to join a PLC housebuilder's commercial team. You will manage development costs and forecasts, working with procurement through to final accounts.

You’ll oversee subcontract packages, prepare reports and ensure projects stay within budget, collaborating with construction and technical teams to resolve commercial queries.

Formación

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding or residential construction.
• Experience managing budgets and preparing commercial reports.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Organised, proactive approach with attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and commercial reporting systems.

Responsabilidades

• Manage development budgets, monitor expenditure and prepare cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Produce regular cost-value reconciliations and commercial reports.
• Prepare tender enquiries, analyse quotations and negotiate subcontract packages.
• Place subcontract orders with clearly defined scopes of work.
• Assess and agree subcontractor valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor site progress and attend commercial and construction meetings.
• Identify commercial risks, potential overspends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Review drawings and specifications, assessing the financial impact of changes.
• Work closely with site and technical teams to resolve commercial queries.
• Maintain accurate records and manage payments in line with agreed procedures.

Quantity Surveyor - Housebuilding

Skilled Careers is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team of six within an established PLC housebuilder in Northampton.

You'll take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated new-build housing developments, working closely with construction and technical teams from procurement through to final accounts.

The Role

• A qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
